I have been involved in the creative arts for many years, writing and recording my own music, painting and drawing and providing wedding and special event photography services.
If had to classify my music, it would be as alternative rock music; if I had to classify my artwork it would lean towards more abstract work, and if I had to classify my photograpy outside wedding and special events, there would be an emphasis on landscape, seascape, equine and looking for unusual ways to capture and represent what I see.
I am particularly interested in finding the unusual in the mundane and then distilling and developing that quality until it flies free of its origin. I believe that art should be a communication by the artist that can evoke an emotional response in the viewer or listener and only then can it be of some value. I think that with the advent of the digital age, there is tremendous scope to incorporate the rich heritage of the art that has gone before with the new technology and methods available today, and thereby track in a new way, that elusive and dangerous beast; quality. Of course, quality itself can never be caught, but therein lies the fun of it....
